Snowflakes

Winter's hold is tight and cold

smothered in a blanket deep.

All around the wind does blow

Timeless shivers within me creep.

Light the snowflakes fall around

swirling softly to the ground.

Covering all with magic white

pristine shapes a brilliant sight.

Now my bones lay deep below

the upper blanket of the snow

and the peace I hear above

of softly snowflakes landing so.

My life is mine but yet it's not
